Jakob\u2019s thesis stood out for its clear aims, broad analyses, and discovery that B-vitamin sharing shapes microbial interactions in activated sludge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Best PhD Thesis Award<\/strong> is awarded to <strong>Julia Krasenbrink<\/strong> (University of Vienna)! Julia\u2019s thesis impressed with its breadth, methodological rigor, and insights into mammalian sulfoquinovose metabolism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Best Paper Award<\/strong> goes to <strong>Goodness Osondu-Chuka<\/strong> (Universit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Bodenkultur Wien) for her innovative study on antibiotic tolerance in <em>Pseudomonas aeruginosa<\/em> biofilms, using 3D-printed biofilm models to challenge existing assumptions.
