Michael Wagner joins University of Vienna Delegation to EXPO 2025

The “Building Futures” event, hosted by Rector Sebastian Schütze and vice-rector Manuela Baccarini at the Austrian Pavilion on May 28th, featured keynotes by eight renowned scientists from the University of Vienna sharing insights into cutting-edge research driving social progress and technological innovation.

In his talk, “Microbiomes: The Invisible Engines of Planetary Health,” Michael explored the indispensable role of microbial communities in sustaining life on Earth and how cutting-edge research unlocks their potential to address global challenges from climate change to personalized medicine!

Following EXPO, the delegation also visited Kyoto University, University of Vienna’s strategic partner university, to foster collaboration and innovation.
